Richmond Primary School is a private Christian based school that opened its door in September 2021. We are located at 1101 Forest Ave Richmond, VA 23229 inside the St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. We are a primary school focusing on students who would benefit from small class sizes, direct teaching and a student-centered approach.

Classroom Teacher (2025-2026 Academic Year)

Primary Hours: 7:45 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday-Friday

Responsibilities:
A Full-Time Classroom Teacher will...

• Plan and deliver creative and innovative instruction that helps foster student-directed discovery in all subject areas (Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science)
• Create a classroom environment that is safe, healthy, and nurturing and goes along with the philosophy and goals of our program.
• Support the social-emotional needs of each student as necessary.
• Attend faculty meetings and professional development meetings.
• Maintain an age-appropriate curriculum.
• Differentiate learning instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
• Deliver individual, whole-group, and small-group instruction.
• Communicate and collaborate with other Richmond Primary staff members.
• Build positive relationships with parents, guardians, and/or caregivers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A qualified applicant will hold at least a Bachelor's Degree and have demonstrated a strong academic record. A Masters Degree and Teaching Certification preferred, but not mandatory.
• Have a minimum of three years teaching experience or previous experience working with children.

Position will start in August 2025.

Substitute Teacher (2024-2025, 2025-2026 Academic Year)

• Primary Hours: 8:00 AM-2:45 PM
• Required Qualifications: High school diploma; minimum age of 18; previous childcare experience
• Duties: Follow lesson plans created by the classroom teacher and alongside the designated classroom schedule. Ensures classroom management; prepare documentation for teacher; performs other duties as assigned by Richmond Primary School.
